To think I’m not using my IPhone 11pro properly?!

I recently upgraded from the iPhone 7 after seeing everyone’s amazing photos taken with the 11pro. I don’t think there’s any difference in photo quality! I must be doing something wrong.

Ultimately I only bought the phone because I have a baby that I take endless pictures of and it saves me lugging a big camera around.

I suppose what I’m saying is: how do I use the bloody camera on the 11 to get the best out of it?!!

Have you tried portrait mode?! Portrait mode makes all the difference on my phone

Are you using portrait mode?

Have you had a read of a few iphone11 blogs about photography? Some great advice out there.

Ooh thanks - I haven’t been using portrait actually. It only really occurred to me today that I wasn’t over the moon with the images so I’ll take a look at some articles on google. Thanks

Portrait mode is great and takes nice pics but I find it doesn't work so well with a baby who is moving all the time or when I'm trying to grab a quick snap of DS smiling / laughing / pulling a funny face. Sadly he has not yet mastered the art of posing long enough! I tend to use 'Live' mode and then you get a whole series of images that you can flick through. Most aren't great but there are usually a couple which are better. After that it's a matter of processing if I want to pic to look a bit better - I use VSCO (although this seems to have been co-opted by teenagers now!) but the iPhone itself has some good tools. It's normally a matter of tweaking the lighting and contrast.
