I understand that work uniforms are useul for branding and health and safety. I understand that in some work roles they are important so you know who you are talking to.
I have a problem with uniforms for unseen workers, especially very strict ones.
E.g. in a hospital you recognise nursing and support staff by their uniforms (but not many consultants and doctors apparently).
NHS 111 call handlers also have a uniform so strict that the only adjustment they can make is whether to wear the uniform Tshirt under the uniform shirt. Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong about that ofc.
This seems to be for appearance only, and yet surely call handlers are not physically visible to the public.
What am I missing here?
What other unseen jobs have a strict uniform code.
