Ford Focus ST Line X. Brand new, £350/month. It's 0% PCP and I will pay the remaining balance after three years to keep it.

XJerseyGirlX · 20/11/2019 14:04

Is your friend lying to you do you think?

forgivemeimnew · 20/11/2019 14:06

Dh has an Audi Q5 with a tech pack for £500month. Your friend seems to be paying a lot.

Joerev · 20/11/2019 14:07

@XJerseyGirlX. Could very well be. Not lying as such. Exaggerating I reckon!

It is a nice one though. Top of the range thing. I don’t know cars. So not sure what it is. Turquoise though!

Ford Fiesta ST line £224 a month

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 20/11/2019 14:15

Kuga £280 a month

Passthecherrycoke · 20/11/2019 14:16

When I was much much younger I had a Aston Martin vantage for £800 a month (don’t ask) so god knows what’s going on with the bmw

I think I need one of these cheaper deals they are better value than running my old banger. Do they include any tax/ insurance/ maintenance?

Earslaps · 20/11/2019 14:17

We were paying £480 a month for a Mercedes C Class convertible, but we've paid it off early. It was on a three year PCP so there was a final payment to make as well. It was the first time we've taken out credit for a car.

The monthly payments on PCP depend on your mileage, how long the credit is etc, so it's tricky to compare. Then there are price differences if you lease (usually cheaper per month as you get no ownership of the car) or have hire purchase (more expensive per month as you pay off the full balance in the monthly payments and have no final payment).

I can imagine that the more expensive BMWs could easily be £900.

2016 Kia Sportage £160pm
2019 Volkswagen Tiguan £390pm

Nissan Note 15 plate - £180

Walnutwhipster · 20/11/2019 14:23

I know someone paying £700 a month for an BMW X6 So it might be right.

Floofffs · 20/11/2019 14:25

Saying what the car is and how much is irrelevant really unless you say HP whereby you will own it at the end of parings or Contract Hire where you return the vehicle to the finance company and have no ownership of that vehicle or equity in it

For my part I work in the Sales side of a dealership and I own my 6 year old car outright. Would never have one financed.

ThePants999 · 20/11/2019 14:29

I put aside £100/month towards buying my next car outright, and expect to do so about 7 years after buying my current car.

OrangeZog · 20/11/2019 14:29

Could the £900 include extras or insurance etc?

Twinkletoes888 · 20/11/2019 14:33

I don’t have one now but I had a corsa then got a meriva but had negative equity it something they called it so my payments were higher, I was young and just signed away... if they had a car in HO before and changed it then they might have other loan added
