Cartilage/helix piercing with a gun

Hi everyone,
I've decided I'm going to get my cartilage pierced this week. I've wanted it done since I was a teenager but never did, now I'm 33 I'm getting it done. I'm a big whuss really (even though I've pushed out 4dc it it's no pain relief ). I've read most people recommend a needle for piercing. I don't even know this. So I've now watched YouTube videos on this procedure and I'm scared lol. At the same time I've read a lot of people have used guns and been fine.
What does everyone think? Any recommendations? Ideally I'd love a gun as I know it's over in seconds.
Thanks

Guns are shit for all piercings. The end.

Daith done by needle this year, has been brilliant for migraines. Took a while to heal, but it was not a painful job to have done, it stung a bit but I love having it. It feels nice, when a migraine is coming on I’m able to play with it (I now have a ring) which helps. Definitely don’t get it done with a gun!

I haven't had a chance to get it done yet. Very soon I will though and will update

DD had her ears done at Claire's two years ago. Ended up with a horrendous infection, really painful. We just took out the earrings and left it to heal.
In October my Mum took her to a doctor who does this, beautiful, clean job with a sterile needle, we cleaned it just to make sure it's OK for about two weeks but no pain, no puss, nothing.
Avoid the likes of Claire's like a plague and no gun.

I got mine done with a gun, it never healed and got worse and worse until I took it out. I still have a huge bump there now.
I looked after it really well, kept it super clean and did all the salt water, hydrogen peroxide, etc, even went to the DR to see if they could do anything for me to keep the piercing but it just never healed and quite honestly the gun was actually quite traumatic, it’s like my body went into shock for a few seconds afterwards which I don’t think would’ve happened with a needle and certainly didn’t happen when I had my earlobes done.

Just an update, I had the piercing done today and it's a needle it was as painful as a blood test, really didn't hurt it's been about 3 hours and touchwood it's absolutely fine. I was given a healing time of 2-3 months so hopefully that's will the case. I can't believe I waited so long to get it done.
