He is old. Recently he has decided that he will only leave the house by the back door and only enter the house by the front door.

Why?

Probably needs to see if there's any fox poo in the garden before he goes out. Bit like us putting perfume on. Seems eminently sensible to me.

Try cats. In and out. In and out. Ad nauseam.
Also, they believe that if it’s lashing in the garden, the weather in the front garden will be much better.
The younger one will try to kill you by dashing out when you open the door, thus tripping you.
The older one will shred the sofa when he gets the crazies because he knows I will come and chase him with a kitchen towel. Alternatively he will chew on phone chargers and my eye glasses.
Believe me, you got it good.

He's definitely taking on cat like preciousness.

If we're all in the back garden he'll walk around to the front door and bark to be let in.

Tonight I stood beside him and an open front door and he looked at me as if I was crazy, and then walked through the house to the back door and demanded to be let out.

Dogs are weird. V v weird.
