Fairy liquid

I've just got home from a night out and DH is asleep and has been unwell so didn't want to disturb by rattling around in the bathroom so I've just taken my make up off and washed my face with fairy liquid in the kitchen sink. AIBU and will wake up with revolting skin or did I do the right thing by getting the double wear off my face.

Water would have been enough

MaidenMotherCrone · 14/11/2019 23:12

Water won't shift double wear.

ComtesseDeSpair · 14/11/2019 23:19

Washing up liquid strips oils and grease so I imagine your face will feel a bit dry and tight tomorrow but as long as you cleanse and moisturise tomorrow morning it shouldn’t be much of an issue.

youngestisapsycho · 14/11/2019 23:38

You’re good! I’ve never, ever taken make up off or cleansed my face at night!

Cheesestrings123 · 15/11/2019 00:57

There was a thread not that long ago raving about the wonders of using fairy liquid periodically on hair and skin , and that it helped some posters with acne/oily skin. It's likely your face will feel soft and clean

PurpleFlower1983 · 15/11/2019 00:59

Miners use it to remove the grease/coal dust so I’m sure you’re good.

ActualHornist · 15/11/2019 01:07

Did you not just think to take your normal face washing stuff into the kitchen?! Grin

You’ll probably be dry and tight tomorrow.

chesterfuckingdraws · 15/11/2019 01:09

Your bedding will thank you for getting rid of the double wear but you might wake up looking like a raisin!

MustardScreams · 15/11/2019 01:14

Slap a bit of moisturiser on and you’ll be fine.

Probably the cleanest your skin will have been for a while!

Nat6999 · 15/11/2019 01:15

Get yourself some babywipes, they remove just about all make up. Don't go for the expensive ones, I buy Morrison's Nutmeg brand sensitive ones, sometimes on offer 3 packs for £1.50, a wipe with those & then a bit of moisturiser afterwards.

hellohaute · 15/11/2019 11:17

Wow fairy liquid really gets rid off all muck, cleanest my skin has felt today. Who knew. I did have an extra cleanse and extra moisturise this morning but pleased I'm not looking like a raisin.

For those who suggest baby wipes or just water, I don't think you've ever worn double wear, it's like skin coloured tar.

as long as you use moisturiser afterwards it's fine.
I refill the hand soap containers with wul. it's soap innit

op try bar soap next. a combination of mousturiser to remove eye make up & bar soap to wash it all off has been the best for my skin.
wipes just sting and don't remove make up properly, they make my eyes water for hours afterwards as well.
