To feel pretty exhausted/ fed up with this?...

On Weds last week, our boiler started going wrong, basically only producing lukewarm rather than hot water.

I was away with work Weds and Thurs. On Fri I was at my ex partners (we are working through issues/ in the process of getting back together) visiting his terminal ill mother (who I was previously very close to). When I returned on Sunday I looked at the boiler, couldn't work out any obvious issue.

On Mon I phoned a few places. No one could come til Tues. Guy turns up Tues (DC1 who is 21 and works 10 mins from home came home at lunch to let him in). He doesn't know what problem is so a colleague will come Thurs.

Today they say they will come in afternoon. DC2 (18) is at home but not answering phone so DC1 agrees to go home early as I then get a call from plumber saying they will be there at 4.30. they've not shown up yet and are delayed in traffic.

Both DC are not happy as lack of hot water means we all have to keep using showers at gym. I get this is inconvenient, I am having to do same. But what more can I do right now?

I also get DC1s frustration over tradesmen and unreliability/ lateness but again what can I do?

I also have a wretched cold so feeling particularly sorry for myself.

And they still haven't turned up. I'm still at least 20 mins away (as it takes me an hour to get home from work) and DC1 is waiting to go out.
