To think workplaces can get toxic and claustrophobic

Do you think that if you start work a shy insecure person and end up being bullied it can be difficult for people to see you in a different light. This can sometimes then lead to you feeling bitter about things if you've been bullied - understandably and wanting to leave. Whereas if you start in a new environment, a bit more confident etc it's much better?

Hypothetically yes
Are you writing a novel or did this happen to you?

I haven’t had experience of the example you are giving but I have definitely seen people pidgeon-holds in work places and just get stuck with a certain reputation. Sometimes you really do need to start somewhere else with a fresh slate to be seen differently. I have seen people progress much better in a new environment for example where they are seen in a better light.

Totally agree Mummadeeze - the bitterness and vengeful thoughts about previous bullying can get overwhelming. There was a lot of immaturity in the place I previously worked and then I moved on to a place with people of better calibre

I suppose the same could be said for schools and bullying?!
