Went to a school friend's baby shower last night and it's seems this this the year nearly all of my classmates from school are pregnant ! I'm 13 weeks pregnant myself but it seems that most of the girls in my class are on their second or thirds baby while I'm having my first!! I admit I'm pregnant unexpectedly but loving it as I've been broody for years - it's just I feel the next few years are going to be bumps, babies and soft play visits!!

How old are you? My friends and I all got married within 2 years of each other and now we've all had/having babies within the same timeframe.

I think pregnancies, like weddings, tend to come in clusters - particularly if you are friends with lots of people of a similar age.

My first pregnancy I was pregnant at the same time as at least two close friends and one work colleague.

My second I was pregnant at same time as the same colleague again and also a different friend. And another friend I met from NCT with first pregnancy. I got pregnant and gave birth shorty after the two close friends from pregnancy round one had just had their second babies too.

All these people are in my age bracket, so I guess it's just a common time to be pregnant.

It's lovely having other women to share the journey of pregnancy and new parenthood! Smile

I'm 27 but I'll be 28 in April and my baby's due in May so we're all 27/28

I agree it goes in clusters. DH and I got married two years ahead of the big burst for our school and uni friends (we got married at 28, went to 11 weddings the year we were all 30), were among the first to have a baby (at 31 - that's very young among people we know!) and now there's a massive wave of babies due around when DS turns two.

I'm practically the last of my schoolfriends to get pregnant and I'm 27 ! My closest friend from school is 28 and just about to give birth to her fourth - I workedinCornwall for a few months and came back to my home town unexpectedly pregnant!

Several of my friends and I had babies at that age too, all first time parents. Some had been married or with partner a while, others less so. I think it's just an average age these days.

Several people I know have announced there expecting. At least ten women on my feed. I guess it goes in cycles.

I'm 35 and within the past five years it's all been weddings and babies, especially in the past 18 months. Its really hard to be the unfortunately childless one amongst it all. I'm finding it harder to socialise as it all revolves around soft play/child friendly cafes and toddler talk and I don't really fit in anymore. I wish things had been different for me and I could have been a yummy mummy now too.

I got pregnant at 27 and I'm the last of my schoolfriends to have a baby I'll be 28 when the baby arrives and want another one before I'm 30! NameChange84 my cousin met her OH at 37 and had 2 babies by 40 so you'll likely be a yummy mummy soon ! I was envious that my closest school frien announced she was having her 4th baby and I didn't have any - I've been to all her scans and she asked me to be her birth partner. I went away for the summer in August all my friends had bumps /babies/young children and I was so broody . Met my baby's dad down in Cornwall didn't tell him how broody I was but I did get pregnant very quickly after meeting himBlush so now 13 weeks pregnant, a single mum and loving it 😊
