I live at home with my mum. The dog wasn't well and had some really odd poops.

My mum decided she was going to take her to the vet (she's fine just a tummy bug) and would take a sample with her...so she used my good Tupperware to do it!
We have the cheap microwavable ones from the pound shop but she decided to use my good sistema one! The one with the compartment for fruit and the little pot for salad dressing!

AIBU to think this is totally unforgivable?

Oh no she di’int, this is the worst. Can you move out/kick her out? That is not on.

BillywilliamV · 08/11/2019 06:13

This is what those plastic takeaway food containers are for..

Does anyone still have real Tupperware??

CupoTeap · 08/11/2019 06:16

You have to make her a pack up in it!

FridalovesDiego · 08/11/2019 06:16

I stole some real Tupperware from my neighbours. I am almost as bad as the OP’s mum, but it is bloody brilliant.

StephenQueenBooks · 08/11/2019 06:25

We have the cheap ones too for spag bol (because it stains) but this was my good one for work! Does leak on the walk in, identifiable in the work fridge.

Cold water and washing powder gets rid of the stains! Definitely don’t put in dishwasher as it sets them. God, I am becoming my own mother.

FridalovesDiego · 08/11/2019 06:32

Whispers: will you still use it Stephen?

IWantADifferentName · 08/11/2019 06:33

Make her something, put it in that container, and then tell her!

StephenQueenBooks · 08/11/2019 06:41

Frida it never even came back from the vets to be an option 😭

Totally unforgivable, and you are therefore justified in buying the sistema bento box, the salad lunchbox (it has a little pot in the middle for the dressing), the square double stack lunchbox -and- the microwave safe mug for soup. In case.

Yoohoo16 · 08/11/2019 07:15

This is the sort of thing of thing dh would do. Then if I complained to him about it, he’d tell me he didn’t realise/couldn’t find the cheap ones/thought it was an old one Hmm

MsChatterbox · 08/11/2019 08:14

100% agree with Draconis.

MrsMozartMkII · 08/11/2019 08:22

You've no choice but to go NC with her.

CravingCheese · 08/11/2019 09:03

That is rather disgusting... But what's done is done.

Btw, might I recommend glass and plastic 'Tupperware'?
I prefer them to plastic... You could use this opportunity to buy containers that are even better than you're 'good' Tupperware.

StephenQueenBooks · 08/11/2019 15:21

It was the salad pkt with the shelf at the top and the little dressing pot. Proper click lid. The tragedy!

This is the saddest thing I’ve ever read wipes a small tear

Flouncysinatra · 08/11/2019 17:07

Bet the vet sticks it in the dishwasher and uses it for their lunches.

RandomMess · 08/11/2019 17:08

Out some replacements on your Christmas list Wink

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/11/2019 17:11

I feel your pain. I used to have a lovely big plastic pudding bowl with a lid that was just the right size for the Christmas pudding. My husband nicked it to mix polyfilla or some other noxious thing in it. I wasn't best pleased. Plenty of other plastic bowls he could have had. Not even to ask which one I wouldn't mind sacrificing! Pah.

BlueJava · 08/11/2019 17:18

I think you need to find out what the vet did with it and warn the vets about single use plastic!
