To feel such anger to JRM?

I am so appalled by the comments that Rees Mogg made re Grenfell - I want to get a train to London and protest and scream and shout. The arrogance, the disdajn, the disrespect. It makes me cry angry tears. How can he not resign???

leckford · 06/11/2019 16:53

Because most people do not get hysterical about this

MustardScreams · 06/11/2019 16:56

He’s done and said far, far worse. Just have a look at his voting record if you want to get seriously furious.

And please don’t let posters like @leckford make you feel your emotions aren’t allowed. It’s a good thing you feel so strongly, shows you have a heart.

goldface · 06/11/2019 17:00

@MustardScreams thank you. I'm aware of some of his previous which contributes to the awfulness really?

I wouldn't say I was hysterical! Just so angry and frustrated

messolini9 · 06/11/2019 17:24

Where is the hysteria, @leckford?

It's not being hysterical to feel hugely angry at JRM's latest crass & victim-blaming comments.

Did his vile speech pass you by, or do you just not give a shit?

Lifecraft · 06/11/2019 22:10

Why do you want him to resign. The more involved he is in the election campaign, the more the public can see the utter contempt and total disregard that he, liar Boris and the rest of them hold normal people in, and the better chance there is of booting these fucking Eton educated, chinless wonders out of power.

So crack on JRM, let's have some more comments on Grenfell. Perhaps you could let us have your views on a few other tragic events while your at it.

JRM is the best asset the opposition have got.

Lifecraft · 06/11/2019 22:10

you're at it

Cinammoncake · 06/11/2019 22:13

He thinks he'll get away with it and he probably will. Boris Johnson is hardly in a position to sack people given his own behaviour and past.

He's showing his true colours (as did Andrew Bridgen) so at least it's out in the open. Why anybody would vote for him is another matter

AutumnCrow · 06/11/2019 22:16

Yup, he's been told to lie low for a while till it's safe to ooze out again.

I agree the more light shines on him the better. Same with Johnson. Posh privilege is not the same as intelligence.

They are both unthinking and uncaring, yet fantastic liars. That must have been some upbringing.

Rumboogie · 06/11/2019 23:33

You're being silly

LaurieFairyCake · 06/11/2019 23:42

He's properly child catchery, Mugabe,Pol Pot, old fashioned monster evil

One of the nastiest people ever made. I'm quite certain I can't post what I hope happens to him but dying in screaming agony is the mildest part of it.

Greatnorthwoods · 06/11/2019 23:50

Is this about his comment that people should have got out the tower?

goldface · 06/11/2019 23:52

@Lifecraft that's a bloody good point, the more he runs his mouth off the more damage he will do to his own cause and the more obvious his arrogance and privilege will become

I want to get a train to London and scream and shout

Gosh. An overwhelming urge no doubt. Try to quell your rage and think of your carbon footprint.

itputsthelotiononitsskin · 07/11/2019 00:08

He drives me mad. And he's my MP/was my MP.

And unfortunately because Labour and Lib Dem's are making a right hash of it locally and splitting the opposition vote, I'm convinced he will get in again.

He's got 6 kids but never changed a nappy in his life.

He thinks women who are raped should be forced to give birth to the baby. He wants to bring back fox hunting (he still hosts illegal hunts on his land), and ban gay marriage.

He himself said we should have a 2nd referendum after the deal have been made, he said that before the first referendum, but is dead set against a people's vote now when he might lose his precious Brexit that lets him hoard and hide cash off shore without scrutiny.

BovaryX · 07/11/2019 00:15

He’s got six kids but never changed a nappy in his life

So what? How many nappies do you think John McDonnell has changed? Jeremy Corbyn? Is it a qualification for political office?

LaurieFairyCake · 07/11/2019 00:23

He boasted about not changing nappies as it was women's work

Obviouslynotobvious · 07/11/2019 00:25

His comments are awful aren't they. People literally died on the stairs trying to get out. How terrible to have them insulted for listening to fire fighters and 999 advice to stay put and not showing the so called common sense as he would have.

Hazardd · 07/11/2019 00:29

He should resign. Or be sacked.

I think we're all irrational for not being hysterical at this point.

SheSaidHummingbird · 07/11/2019 00:37

How Jacob Rees-Mogg voted on Social Issues

Consistently voted against equal gay rights

Consistently voted against smoking bans

Consistently voted against allowing marriage between two people of same sex

Almost always voted against laws to promote equality and human rights

Voted against allowing terminally ill people to be given assistance to end their life

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 07/11/2019 00:38

He always gets away with it. Can't stand the man - he should have resigned or been sacked by now.

EnFinale · 07/11/2019 00:41

Have you actually watched the interview and heard what he actually said?

Evidently not.

The Left trying to score political points out of Grenfell is disgusting.

Dazedandconfused123 · 07/11/2019 06:09

Enfinale - have YOU actually listened to the interview? He actually said the word common sense. He actually said that people with common sense would have ignored the stay put rule. No need for interpretation there. It is definitely not the left point scoring. It’s vile and cruel.

AutumnCrow · 07/11/2019 08:04

Enfinale, if he didn't say anything wrong, why has JRM profusely apologised? Why has Andrew Bridgen profusely apologised for defending him?

I did listen to the interview and I thought, You insensitive, ignorant, arrogant, vile twat.

I'm not 'The Left'. I'm human.

Gwlondon · 07/11/2019 08:16

He was talking about having read the report, the whole sentence was about after he “read the report at the weekend....”

EnFinale is right.

People don’t like him because he is too posh People can’t follow what he is talking about. I think he is too posh. I did understand that he was talking about the report. Inverse snobbery. But at least I know I think he is too posh.

The fire at Grenfell tower was one of the worst tragedies we have ever had. So many failings. JRM knows that.

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 07/11/2019 08:22

It's got nothing to do with him being 'too posh'. In fact I know quite a few people who like him because he is posh and they find him 'quintessential'. I also know quite a few people who have similar backgrounds to him and can't stand him.
