I don't disagree with you, but the flat earth movement has been around for centuries. The internet might have given it publicity, as the article states, but it's not a new thing.
As I understand it, flat earthers have quite complex reasoning behind their arguments. I don't support them but it's inaccurate to dismiss them as people who think the earth is flat because they have ignored all evidence to the contrary.
