I have a minor medical procedure today so in a bid to distract myself can I please ask you for the songs that annoy you and the reason why?
Mine are: Dolly Parton 'Jolene' - asking someone not to take her man away. If your man wants to cheat he will and if he will he is not worth hanging on to.
Whitney Houston 'Saving all my love' - basically singing about having an affair. So disrespectful but it's ok because no other man will do

The Aerosmith one from Armageddon. Hate it.

The Bon Jovi one where it starts something like “Romeo is bleeding”.

Frankie goes to Hollywood - power of love

I can't remember the name of it but that one that came out a few years ago that was basically the singer asking his girlfriends dad for permission to marry her and he said no so he went on and on "why do you have to be so cruel? I'm going to marry her anyway"

A) doesn't she get a say in this?
B) if you're going to do it anyway, why ask in the first place?
C) you're such a whiney bastard, I'd say no if she was my daughter too

I didn't interpret saying they would both be sorry as him threatening to kill her - they could both be sorry about not being together anymore and he's asking her to reconsider. I agree it all is a bit patronising and sexist though.
