To find this woman insufferable

An acquaintance of mine recently quit a job in retail to loon for something that suited her more (read: apply for a tonne of jobs shes woefully under qualified for).
She’s now been out of work for 6 weeks.
She’s taken to posting daily on social media about how grateful she is for this time to find herself Hmm how she’s realised employment isn’t everything etc etc.
Which is fine, I know several people who have taken career breaks, however she can afford this stress free existence thanks to her DP. This gets on my nerves slightly, when the real experience for most people out of work is having to jump through ridiculous hoops with job centres to not get benefits sanctions.

This isn’t a dig at SAHP or anything of the sort, but her tedious attitude that now she’s not working she is somehow superior to everyone else as she has time to get to know herself. Whatever that means
AIBU to do a great big eye roll every time I see one of her posts

She has realised she’s made a mistake and is trying to look positive and justify her choice.

Yanbu

My SIL is like this. Too amazing to join the rat race. Meanwhile my brother is knackered from being the only one earning.

"Lovely dear but taking time to appreciate the meaning of life doesn't put a roof over your head"

Mrwoofington · 04/11/2019 22:44

She either genuinely is excited by the time off - why shit on that, as ignorant as she is to others plights

Or she's feeling shit and trying to make herself feel better - why shit on her whilst she's down

Hide her from your timeline and move on

Lifeisabeach09 · 04/11/2019 22:44

I wouldn't believe what people post on social media. It's usually bullocks. If she's posting daily, she's likely bored. Unfollow her.

I'd also turn it around: she left a retail position but can't find another job due to being unqualified. Is she really in such a good place? She must have very low confidence.

She has only been out of work for 6 weeks. She is enjoying having a bit of time off. What is wrong with that?

Jupiters · 04/11/2019 22:51

Snooze her, a little break seems like the best idea

Yestermo · 04/11/2019 22:53

She is either:
Enjoying a bit of time off (fucking rejoice with her. do it when you can life is short! If you're bitter just unfriendly her .)
Shitting herself that she doesn't have a job (offer her support, think nice thoughts or unfriend her )
An annoying twat (unfriend her).

I’ve no issue with people enjoying time off! I took 6 weeks off work 2 years ago. (With savings for fund it)
My issue is the sanctimonious “I’m better than an 9-5” attitude she is parading
