To not know how to get about getting a second job?

Having gone through my finances it’s not adding up and so I am looking at hopefully temporarily getting a weekend job.

The problem is I don’t know who to put as a reference (it can’t be my manager at the job I do during the week) and I’m not sure what to put on my CV - I’m considering just indicating that I’m a SAHM looking for extra money.

Has anybody been in this position?

Why can't it be your manager for your current job?
Won't you have to declare to your job if you get a second job anyway? I know I do, to make sure I'm not breaking the clause in my contract about working for the competition. There are potentially tax implications too depending on how much you earn.

If it's your second job your new employer will have to know for tax purposes. Check your current job's contract for whether you are obliged to tell them if doing any other work. Even if you do, it's not likely to be a problem unless there's any conflict of interests such as working for a competitor. Your current manager may be fine about giving a reference, but may be concerned that you don't overdo it, so you might need to reassure them about that. If not, a previous manager/colleague? The type of job may affect what sort of reference you need - some might be happy with a "personal" reference. Try asking the organisation you're applying to - if they are used to employing weekend workers they may be quite used to people who are reluctant to ask their main employer for a reference.

It won’t be a problem in terms of competition or anything but I avoid talking to my manager where possible anyway (bullying arse) and plus it would just be embarrassing.

I was wondering if I could just use a friend as reference - it would be shop or care work or pizza delivery or something.
