When they announce a Tory majority with Johnson at the helm?

Then it's all down hill. Every time I've know a Tory government get it, living standards have dropped where I live. Every time.

Have a genuine feeling of foreboding.

Anyone else?

Had you noticed it’s going to be Friday 13th?!

ohhhhlivia · 31/10/2019 20:34

Apt.

It's going to be horrible.

HappyDinosaur · 31/10/2019 20:36

I feel exactly the same, amazing though that so many people will vote that way. Slightly sad too really.

JuniLoolaPalooza · 31/10/2019 20:36

I can't see any other outcome either. Can't quite comprehend how many people how there want this country to be so fucked but there we are.

Parky04 · 31/10/2019 20:47

Because there is no alternative. Majority of people will not vote for a far left party. We are not a socialist country. If Labour were more central then they would walk it.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 31/10/2019 20:48

Yeah me. As I’ve alluded to many times on these threads. The Tories are idolised by the British Public and Yes they will get back in. I’m in not going to give you false hope.
So We’ll wake up to the news on Friday 13 that these muppets are still in Power. I bet you £1.

yolofish · 31/10/2019 20:48

Whoever wins, someone will feel like that.

If no one wins (hung parlt) then everyone will feel like that.

All in all, it's a shitshow with the only real winners being the JRM's of this world who have managed to put their vast wealth offshore for safety and who can make money on the £ in the meantime.

LavendarGreen · 31/10/2019 20:49

I'm past caring. Don't give a shit anymore.

Andonandonan · 31/10/2019 20:49

Yep I feel exactly the same. I know I won’t be able to resist staying up all night watching the coverage and then it will be just like the morning after the referendum, and after the 2017 election, only worse because people are still voting for things to get worse.

Treaclepie19 · 31/10/2019 20:51

Yup. YANBU.
I'm in a safe Tory seat and fed up of feeling my vote doesn't count but there we go.

ohhhhlivia · 31/10/2019 20:51

How can anybody feel this bad about a Labour? Oh you might pay a bit more tax...

Hmm
OP posts:
ShakeAndSnatch · 31/10/2019 20:53

Yeah, I agree. I also agree with If Labour were more central then they would walk it.

As it is, we'll have turkeys voting for Christmas and another 5 years of Tory.

Mickhasnotorso · 31/10/2019 20:53

Yanbu it's gonna be a huge bag of wank.

Cattenberg · 31/10/2019 20:55

I’m really depressed about the direction this country is heading in. I don’t want the UK to be weaker, especially when it comes to doing trade deals with the superpowers. I dread the proposed deal with the US - I don’t envy Americans their healthcare system, food safety standards, environmental protection laws or employment rights and I don’t trust the Tories or the Brexit Party to do right by us.

I was thinking today about how much I’d love to emigrate with DD and start afresh, but my DM gets tearful at the very suggestion, and DD would miss out on a lot of time with her extended family.

SleepingStandingUp · 31/10/2019 20:58

I'm due my twins around that time. I swear i'm gonna go into labour 12th, not get to vote and then deliver my babies into a world rules by King Boris I

Mama is sorry babies

LoyaltyBonus · 31/10/2019 20:58

I am furious with the Labour party. This shit show shambles and yet the "main" opposition party doesnt stand a chance. Why have they insisted on sticking with an unelectable leader?

WingDefence · 31/10/2019 20:59

It’s my birthday on the 13th Dec and I am already gutted as I just know it’s going to be ruined tbh! DH and I are into our politics but I don’t even want to stay up for the results this time because it will be a grim way to start my birthday.

If my birthday was on election day that wouldn’t have been as weird as it’s mostly just speculation throughout the day isn’t it, with perhaps just the exit polls to depress me in the evening but I’d be drunk by then anyway Angry

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 31/10/2019 20:59

We’ll have turkeys voting for Christmas

This This This. With giant 🔔a on.

Shakirasma · 31/10/2019 20:59

I live in a very working class area, generally hard working but not particularly affluent at all and below average levels of education. The local forums are full of Boris worship and I just dont understand it. How they think Johnson and his colleagues give a flying fuck about people like us I dont know.

Sandsnake · 31/10/2019 21:00

I’m dreading the crowing that it’s a ‘clear mandate for Boris’ Brexit’ when in reality I think a lot of people will vote Tory out of sheer weariness (and lack of perceived viable alternatives). Super depressing is the fact that the lesson will basically be ‘act deplorably and create a toxic and dangerous political environment and you’ll get your way in the end.’

LavendarGreen · 31/10/2019 21:05

All you lot moaning about Conservatives 'winning' and doing well. You've got Corbyn to blame for that.

He has single handedly WRECKED the Labour party, and no-one I KNOW will be voting Labour with this clown at the helm.

Multiple millions of life-long Labour supporters have jumped ship and turned to Ukip, Conservatives, and The Brexit Party.

I hope the people who sing Corbyn's praises are happy. Because of HIM, the fucking TORIES will be in for another 5 years!!! Hmm

Baguetteaboutit · 31/10/2019 21:06

Why have they insisted on sticking with an unelectable leader?

I'm so cross with this shower. Bloody Momentum. How can you be in opposition during this fucking mess and not lead in the polls?

LisaSimpsonsbff · 31/10/2019 21:08

I had a miscarriage on the day of the last election and I still think I might feel even shittier on the day of this one. I think it's going to be a disaster. I really hope I'm wrong.

steppemum · 31/10/2019 21:08

I honestly don't know who to vote for.
I would not vote to put Jeremy Corbyn into power.
I can't bear Boris.
Nothing else is worth voting for because they won't get in.

Sorry, but waking up to a labour government with Jeremy Corbyn is eveyr bot at bad as waking up to another conservative government

The80sweregreat · 31/10/2019 21:09

I'm dreading it too ; my only hope is another hung Parliament and seeing some of the smirk taken away from the Tories; maybe Corbyn will take the hint and finally stand aside and someone with a bit more vision with centre left policies take over. Someone electable,
They might do deals that fall apart , or we may end up in the same situation we are now. Brexit will hangover to the new year and still be rumbling on by Easter.
It's so depressing and I predict a low turnout too. Corbyn will never be PM and that's the saddest thing of all ; labour are as they were in the 1980s
