Long story as short as I can

Moved into a rental via an estate agent.
They told us the supplier was supplier A. It wasn't
2 weeks of tracking down. And found out it was B.

B. Only supplies to businesses.
The previous occupants were classes as a business.. They were a charity for young people.

B are absolutely useless. They need to change it to my sole name as a Domestic dwelling so I can get my old supplier to Take over.

They had said I must of moved in early Sept when the. Previous moved out.
I emailed Tennancy which showed property was empty for 4 weeks in between.

The estate agent gave them my details aparantly however. When I phoned it was shown as myself being joint with the LL. But still as a business.

For the 4 weeks the property was empty the LL bill was £80 gas. That's huge rates.

Another 45 min in the phone today and they think the gas is ready to switch but not the Elec.. (I need both for the deal I've got with old supplier)
The issue with the Elec is the meters ' properties', are set as business rates and needs to go to technical team. Before it can go into my name.

After a huge argument from. Me and LL to them to sort out the correct occupant.

I'm terrified to put heating on because of the costs etc
But this is because I know I'm going to get an extortionate bill as a business rate not domestic..
Aibu to tell them I'll only pay what I normally would as I've now been fighting this for 6 weeks!

I had problems with my supplier . I found esculating to complaint process got things moving

Yanbu, it's not your fault. Certainly use your energy as normal instead of being charged as a 'business'. It'll all be sorted out in the end.

Make sure the LL covers the daily standing charge(s) for the period it was empty, too.

Yes the LL has paid the bill from when it was empty.

Mian issue I have Is when I try to complain they said I can't as the account isn't in my name.. As being processed. Hours worth of phone calls and getting no where..
Wish I'd kept a log of it all. I can prob go thro phone bill and remember most of the convos on each day. So when I get a bill I may pay a certain amount then write a letter with it and return to complaints.
