Opposite my home they are building new houses at the moment it’s 10.10pm my baby was meant to be asleep by now. They are drilling & making a lot of noise moving things. I can’t believe they are doing this at 10pm baby was meant to be asleep an hour ago. Should I go over & complain?

Yes, and report to the Council in the morning - planning and environmental health. That is way past the hours you would reasonably expect noise and disturbance!

PurpleDaisies · 30/10/2019 22:13

Yes, that’s far too late to be drilling.

Rules are much stricter for a building site than for people doing diy, I definitely wouldn’t be happy with noisy work being carried out at this time

Yes - I think you'd probably also have a case with environmental health, depending on where you live. Construction noise (not private DIY) tends to be a quite heavily restricted in terms of permitted hours. Sorry - it just be very stressful - I hope you can get some peace soon Flowers

My DH owns a house building company, you are only allowed to operate within the following hours.
Monday to Friday: 8am to 6pm.
Saturdays: 8am to 1pm.
