To think there won’t be another Mn election

So just over ten years ago it was the MN election.

It wouldn’t happen now. The place is just troll, pervert, CF.

I fully expect to be told I am BU - no one likes being told that the threads they love make them both thick and naive - but that’s the truth of the matter.

Maybe I should fuck off to reddit.

It might help if you mentioned what an MN election was about.

Also, it would seem that you are basing your opinion purely on AIBU when this site has many varying topics. Some may call you thick and naïve for not realising that, not that I would of course.

I assume OP means that 10 years ago the politicians were falling over themselves to get the views of mumsnetters. We were seen as the political weathervane.

Now it's all cheekyfuckers and parking and trans stuff (to be clear I think this is an extremely important issue and I'm glad mn are hosting it) and they don't seem quite as eager to come and tell us a lie about what their favourite biscuit is.

Yes, I think MN's choices with regards trans issues have had a huge impact on the way the site is perceived.

I don't think it's just that Cohle.

FWR is an echo chamber when it comes to Trans "issues", rather than MN's choices IYSWIM.

AIBU is the most prominent part of the site which tends to be a bitch-fest.

Far fewer members have the political interest and understanding than of 10 years ago.

MN has shown itself to be wide of the mark with political outcomes too. If MNers really were the weathervane we wouldn't have a Tory government now and we wouldn't be about to leave the EU.

Probably a whole load of other reasons too.
