To consider returning to education?

Looking for some advice to determine if it would be reasonable to return to studying in the near future.

I have 10 month old DS and 2nd DC is due at the end of April. I am a nurse and a trainee school nursing programme has opened up starting January 2020 (I believe I could start this then return after mat leave or defer for a year and start the course in January 2021 which would be when I want to return from mat leave anyway so is the option I would choose if I could). Course fees would be paid by the NHS and I would receive my current wage minus unsocial hours as I wouldn't be doing nights of weekends.

Would I be able get help with childcare costs over and above the tax free government scheme? It is really helpful but with 2 under 3 private care would cost ~£1600 per month full time which will be more then I earn which pushes in it to the unreasonable side unfortunately. My DH is on a PhD stipend so not a great income there either.
