To dislike the new Timmy narration

Surely there aren't that many 6 Yr Olds desperate for work?? I always liked that it was largely none wordy but was still clear what was going in. But the new ones have constant voice over? It's ruining Timmy Time for me!!

I get it. It's all a bit Mr Tumble-esque now.

JemimaCuddleMuck · 29/10/2019 17:16

I'm with you on this. Ruined it. It's almost as if someone decided young children couldn't follow the storyline without narration 🙄. Wrong I think, there was something so charming about the original that's now lost.

beldaran · 29/10/2019 17:23

Oh I've found my people! I'm so glad others think it's ruined. The whole fun was making up what they said especially Stripey the badger and his honking. We've had to resort to YouTube for the old episodes.

SleepingStandingUp · 29/10/2019 17:24

Exactly! DS was non verbal until past 3 so I think I'm e tra prote tive of Timmy and how well he communicated anyway, loved that he could watch a show where it was fine to be like that. What character is she even meant to be.

We were so excited about the new series too.

It's awful!

The whole point was that it was absolutely clear what was going on just with their sounds.

SleepingStandingUp · 29/10/2019 17:25

I can't find proper old episodes in YouTube, just the educational ones

Yes! So disappointed it's lost its charm now.

KittensInABasket · 20/11/2019 18:05

I've just seen this! It's not just the narration, it's been re edited in some places - Fireman Timmy was on repeat in our house a couple of years ago, now the start is cut out, the fire engine is different.

Emma463 · 05/12/2019 09:22

I totally agree. Narration has ruined Timmy Time!

AdalindMeisner · 05/12/2019 09:30

What is Timmy Time? Is it a cartoon? I have a 4 Yr old but we have Little Princess on a constant loop on.

SquareAsABlock · 05/12/2019 09:36

Bit of on old thread, but yes its really annoying now. It was sweet previously, certainly didnt need narration. Now the voices on Bing are off as well, I might have to rethink my cbeebies viewing habits....

purpleme12 · 05/12/2019 09:42

Oh we haven't watched it for ages. Why do they have to ruin things

I haven't noticed Bing being different? This is not good

UpsyDaisysarmpit · 05/12/2019 09:46

Urgh! My little boy (now a teenager!) loved Timmy Time as did my DD (now a 10-year old ). I liked that there wasn't a voiceover.
Does anyone else remember when they messed with Waybuloo and stuck a sarcastic-sounding voiceover (Alexander Armstrong maybe?) over the top. There was a fuss and it was reverted back to the old style immediately.
