That's a very good point fluffyalpalca I can drop a few tins to the food bank.

Cranky 😂
I had a lovely steamed ginger sponge and custard, Saturday and pineapple jelly with cream yesterday. From the stash. Rotate your stock.
It’s a shame it’s still so uncertain as we enter the new decade.

Love that tweet, have been thinking about that all week.

This is pretty good too:

We'll be eating chickpeas and tomato sauce for a long time.

Cinammoncake · 28/10/2019 17:48

There must be a cook on MN who can invent some kind of chickpeas/tomato sauce/ rice dish which is delicious?

Wildthyme · 28/10/2019 18:00

Aye, onion, red pepper, quarter of a tube of garlic paste in frying pan, cook til brown, add dried chilli flakes and paprika, drain chick peas, add can of tomatoes, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Cook rice.

Wildthyme · 28/10/2019 18:01

Chuck mushrooms in as if you like. Or some chorizo.

Cinammoncake · 28/10/2019 18:23

Thanks whildthyme ! sounds good Smile

It’s time for stock rotation, but I’m not properly eating it all up unless the whole farce goes away. Sadly my attempts to stockpile chocolate and gin all ended in failure. I’m actually really looking forward to a plate of spam fried rice, with chilli sauce and a fried egg on top,

MarshaBradyo · 28/10/2019 18:36

I’m glad I don’t have to ensure I have 12 extra tolls of Andrex at all times for a while.

Those tweets etc made me laugh

venusandmars · 28/10/2019 18:36

I'm using all my toilet rolls at once... (all 54 of them!)

Cinammoncake · 28/10/2019 18:47

That looks delicious fluffyalpalca thank you. Will be making this and wildthyme's delicious recipe (for which we need to find a Brexity name) and so at last I can say something good has come out of Brexit!

Might be giving this one a miss though Grin

well, the Idahoan mash and the tinned fruit are going to the Food Bank.

We have enough chick peas to not have to buy hummus for the next few months. And enough loo roll as well.

However I don't trust bastard BJ not to shaft us after the GE so will not run stocks too low

Dyrne · 28/10/2019 19:40

Am very impressed at those managing to stockpile chocolate & biscuits. I keep trying but some buggar keeps eating it all! Grin

Me too. I never want sweets unless they are here. My DH is currently driving around with sweets and chocs for Halloween in his car booth so I don't have them hereBlush
Cause there would be none left before Thursday! And I don't even have a sweet tooth.....

Cinammoncake · 30/10/2019 18:30

wildthyme I just came back to say I tried your chickpea recipe today, with chorizo, and it was delicious! Will definitely have that again and it was dead easy and I'm no chef. Thank you Flowers
