WWYD - item not arrived

Evening All

Posting for traffic and am after some thoughts and suggestions as to what you would do in my position please.

Ordered a furniture item via a website early August this year. It cost £200 and was paid for on debit card.

Estimated delivery at time of ordering was 2-4weeks. All good.

This then changed a while later to 3-5 weeks when I tracked my order online.

This time period expired so I emailed the customer service team and was told my item was in the warehouse awaiting despatch.

Finally got a delivery slot early October which was confirmed via text. Night before it's due to arrive, I get a message apologising for a technical error and that my item wouldn't be arriving as planned.

I emailed again about this, no reply.

To cut a long story short, another delivery was booked but yet the same thing happened the night before and my item never arrived.

I've tried phoning, but get a message saying the office is closed (even though it's during their opening hours). I've emailed again... no reply.

I've left negative feedback on their social media site... silence.

What do I do?! What would you do?

Got to the point now where I just want my money back!

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Can you phone your bank and complain of fraudulent activity? I did this with HSBC and they're pretty good

This is where paying by credit card would have been useful as you could claim back through them. You can try debit card charge back but it's more complex

@dementedpixie never heard of that before but had a quick read and is definitely I'll pursue.

Thank you
