Someone I know has been separated from their spouse for about 15 years (maybe a little more or less). They recently "found out" they had been divorced for some time. I'm thinking WTF, surely this is something you would defo be told about?

Depends I think if they were tracked by the other half wanting the divorce and the courts. I think they can put an appeal in a newspaper or as such like a public notice? And if they still can't find then they can grant the divorce....? Could be completely wrong and I think it is based on seperation? Someone else will correct me I'm sure

It happened to my brother. We think the XW intercepted the decree absolute since it suited her not to tell him.
