I mourn the death of the history bit too OP.

But would it be the same without Mel and Sue?

YES. And a bit more concentration on the actual baking. Don't give a stuff who presents it. It's becoming boring and won't be rescued by recruiting yet more entertaining staff.

Nooooo! Tbh, I hadn’t noticed they’d gone, but now you’ve mentioned it, I’ve remembered how much they annoyed me. I presume most people felt the same or they’ve kept it.

Bake off has been ruined. Partly because of the desperate attempts at “humour”, and partly because of Paul’s desperate attempts to try and find ever more obscure and glamorous looking bakes.

Mary Berry kept the show focused concentrated on the actual art of baking things people were likely to eat. She didn’t try and make it all about her and she kept Paul in check too. I like Prue but she’s not strong enough.

YES! I loved the history bits. Is there a petition? I'll sign.

I agree, I much prefer the history segments to Noel and Sandi's bizarre attempts at humour. I still miss Sue and Mel I think I prefer Pru to Mary though!

I've been rewatching the earlier series on Netflix and Paul was actually quite nice and helpful to the contestants, he gave them little tips and suggestions, he's got worse as the series has gone on.

He's definitely got worse, although getting better this series. He was peak wanker last series. Prue is fab. Sandi and Noel are fine.

Just bring back the history bits! I have no idea how they were annoying to some. But we're all different.

Can’t you just google them?

I much prefer Sandi and Noel to Mel & Sue.
