to hate Pam and Jim from The Office (American)?

All fans of the American version of The Office seem to utterly love Pam and Jim but I cannot stand them and think they are the absolute worst.

They are such smug, annoying, prats with huge superiority complexes.

Please tell me someone else feels like this about these two insufferable twats, who ruin a decent comedy show?

Yes, yes it’s only a TV show but we’ve discussed subjects much more trivial on AIBU. 🤷‍♀️

I loved them! I still do a bit but Jim’s smug smiles to camera get a bit annoying on a second watch. He’s also horrible to his girlfriends before Pam. And an idiot in the last series.

I liked them before they got together and then once they were together they made me want to vomit. Just hideous characters.

I liked Jim until he got with Pam! They seem to think they're really funny and everyone else is a loser, but they're a pair of boring farts!

I really didn't like Jim as the show went on, he treats Pam like shit towards the end but we're meant to see it as a happily resolved love story?!

I actually HATE The American version of The Office. It's shit. IMO.

Maybe it's better if you have never watched the British one first.

I thought they were brilliant, especially together. The friendship they had beforehand only made them stronger than any other relationship on the series. Maybe Jim started to treat Pam a little bad towards the end, but he made things right, and he only ever had her best interests at heart, as he always told the cameras. Their love made the show.

He's a controlling, selfish arsehole who railroads Pam into really, really important life decisions without any consultation then expected her to be happy. He was creepy and controlling to the point where if it had less of a love story start, the character would have been called abusive. It's like the show ended with a version of Jim that wasn't the character originally written...

I agree! Jim was a shit when working away with his lack of boundaries with his colleague very obviously fancying him (can't remember her name!).

Pam basically strung him along until she no longer wanted to be with Roy, then she essentially had an emotional affair with one of the crew members whilst Jim was away.

The British one is so much better - by miles. I enjoy the American one but view it as a totally different show. If you skip the first season, it’s so much better.

I comments about P&J finding themselves so funny, are true. They always seemed so pleased with themselves. Just the worst.

I know it's been a while however I had to comment as I feel the exact same way I can't stand either of them, I got told off my gf to turn it off as I just kept complaining about them, I know this sounds so silly but am positive they have had feelings for each other and am not talking about in the show am talking about when the cameras wasnt rolling, she even said in a youtube interview that the character Jim wrote her a personal letter at the end of the show that she didn't show anyone not even her husband, even in the youtube interview pam had to make it all about her self and Jim, you would think it's called the pam and Jim show....... yeah I have hatred for them 🤣🤣🤣

Has anyone watched the Australian version? Wasn't sure the boss character would work as a woman but it was brilliant. Just saw the first few episodes but I would recommend.

I’m American and I can’t stand it but I’ve never seen your version of it either. I just find weekly serial comedy, drama or whatever shows so hard to get into. I don’t relate. I’m particularly hard pressed to figure out that guy that’s married to Emily blunt has his own shows. I don’t find any of them entertaining.. sorry
