Posting here for traffic!

Has anyone with a SK mattress done it with 2x single mattresses together, kind of a zip&link idea but cheaper lol!

Looking at the Ikea Hovag mattress, but as I am much weightier than hubs, I was thinking of 2 singles so we don't get sag etc?

Can anyone think of a problem doing this?

TIA!

We have an SK bed. For a while, when the mattress was really rubbish, we used two singles on the SK bed frame. It did work, but wasn't as comfortable as a whole mattress. It was mostly that when you turned over, if you happened to be in the middle you could feel the seam between the two.

If you do get two, either get ones that zip together or tight fitted sheets so they don't move apart.

We have the hovag superking. It's a great mattress. DH is a lot heavier than me but so far, so good. Unlike our last mattress (a king koil), which was twice as expensive and rubbish three months in - massive dent dh's side and you couldn't flip it. I've never tried the two singles approach but I'd be put off by the idea of being able to feel the seam down the middle.

What about two singles but with a Superkings mattress topper on top? Might help them stay together and avoid the feeling of the seam. This is what we are considering. I like a softer mattress than DH as he has a bad back and likes a firmer one.

Embrace the seam, this is a demarcation line for marauders who spread over to the far side.
