To want to be paid for this?

I have a job trial this Thursday at a nightclub they've asked me to come in from 10pm till 4am and I'll be working all of those 6hrs. It isn't a paid trial.

Is this normal? Really want the job as it fits in great around my lifestyle working nights.

It's a risk but it's up to you. Get you in for free to do all the nasty jobs and then give someone else a trial the next night.

Do you know someone who works there already, they might be hour best bet to ask. Good luck.

I think you're absolutely right to expect to be paid but unfortunately this is really common in pubs and clubs and even in our local fish and chip shop where they have a string of teenagers who do an unpaid trial shift humping bags of spuds but then are never given any actual shifts

I’ve done bar trials before but normally they are paid, as pp said I wonder if it’s just a free way to get staff

Most clubs prefer to have permanent trials for jobs, and will only offer a job if they can’t get anyone in for the freebie!

Hmm, they're advertising a part time role (which is perfect for me!). I'm happy to do the trial shift just this once on Friday but will be asking for payment of the shift if they don't offer me the job afterwards I think as it is pretty cheeky!
