I get it, not sure what's so confusing Hmm

I'm not sure, I didn't use Facebook at all ten years ago.

NoHummus · 14/10/2019 21:00

I used Facebook all the time in 2010, but I deactivated my account about five years ago so now I don't use it at all.

AllTheNameAreTakenEvenThisOne · 14/10/2019 21:02

I used to chat to friends publicly. Now I contact by DM if I want to talk.to them. I spend most if my time in groups not on my wall.

Delatron · 14/10/2019 21:05

I think people are using it less. Not so many ‘Joyce has had a lovely breakfast’ status updates. Less photos being posted.
I use mine for local info and my business. Not much for personal use.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 14/10/2019 21:05

Yes, massively.

But I work in the field.

I think so. There used to be a lit note annoying games. I know people that used to post a lot that don't post much any more. There seems more arguing with strangers about Brexit. Advertising is more targeted. I think older people use it more and younger people use Instagram etc. You dont see as much conversation on peoples walls, I think they message over whatsapp etc now. I personally dont see a million posts of someones night out anymore either

Cuddling57 · 14/10/2019 21:07

I love our local town Facebook page for info and recommendations.
I don't post much at all.
My teenager doesn't want an account so I think it will eventually be used a lot less by the next generation who are more into the next trendy app!

Compared to 2005/6... Massively. It was students only then.
Now it's more business, schools, clubs etc. Plus keeping up with people you don't see often rather than your Study group.

yellowallpaper · 14/10/2019 21:12

They are brilliant doe support groups.

Fantababy · 14/10/2019 21:15

Far fewer 'Sandra is feeling ...' posts. And, as a pp said, far fewer pics of nights out. My wall is now full of posts from groups (Can I breastfeed it it?' and the like), and more advertising.
A lot of people who do post pictures, mind you, are virtually unrecognisable, due to all the smooth skin, white teeth, etc, filters they use. Confused

OddBoots · 14/10/2019 21:16

Less poking now.
