To think that somebody is bullshitting somewhere?

I am supposed to get regular deliveries of Humira from a contractor to the NHS.

Last week, having had the delivery booked for over a month, they called an hour and forty minutes into the delivery slot to say that the driver had exceeded his driving hours, so I wasn't going to get my delivery.

Not particularly happy about this, but I thought perhaps he'd been covering for a different delivery area and that took him over 9 hours a day/10 more than twice a week/etc. They tried to get me to rebook for after the next dose was due, but after explaining I won't have any left, they said they'd rebooked for tonight between six and nine. They only have evening deliveries in this area on a Friday night.

I've been dutifully sat here waiting for them for the second week in a row and the time has expired. I've had no call from them and when I tried to use the online tracker, there is no record of a booked delivery tonight. There is a missed call on my phone from a withheld number - which makes me wonder if they tried to deliver them whilst I was at work, somewhere around 4 hours before the delivery slot, or wanted to cancel it again. But no message.

So I have no medication for my next dose, I'm not hugely keen on accepting a delivery at work (if they allow it - I can't see myself sitting on reception from 7am on the offchance they turn up, as they can only hand it to certain named individuals, what with the storage requirements and cost of the meds) even if they could deliver it in the next five days, as I would need to buy a chilled container to keep them at refrigerator temperature on the way home - if it gets above that, the second dose would expire (they have 14 days' from getting warmer and after that, they have to be disposed of) before the next one is due.

I'll have to try and get in touch with them tomorrow, as their lines are closed, but I can't help feeling that either the delivery driver is taking the piss or they are having supply issues again - the hospital had to give them a rocket to get the deliveries started, as they took two months from receiving the prescription to even get me on the list - and they're coming up with excuses/blatant wasting of time to cover for it.

Meh. I don't exactly look forward to the deliveries, but it's better to get them than to be here, not sure if I'll have anything to take when the next dose comes around. and worrying that post 31 October, I'll be unable to get it at all

I'm probably catastrophising. I'm probably BU. But this shit is pretty important, what with it being prescribed to keep me working and to reduce the risk of the lower life expectancy associated with untreated automimmune disease. But I'm annoyed and suspicious. And in need of a cuppa. But we're out of teabags and I daren't leave the house in case the driver turns up on his way home or something.

Grumble, grumble....I expect I just need somebody to tell me it's not a problem, they work for the companies and there aren't any issues, etc, etc. Or that I'm making a fuss about nothing and of course they'll be able to get them to me in time when they've failed twice in seven days when they know I'm out of meds.

Is there anything good on telly tonight?

I think I’d be putting a complaint in! Even if they did attempt to contact you they should have left a message for you to ring back or try again until they spoke to you as they know you would be sat waiting.
