So obviously today Manchester had a stabbing in the arndale centre.
This is very sad

I’ve got a friend who’s got a bit of a habit about making things about her. (Think marking herself safe in incidents on Facebook when she was miles and miles and miles away, it could have been me about her holiday with Thomas cook 3 years ago)

She’s been going on today about how she doesn’t want her sons growing up with this on their doorstep.
She lives ages away from the middle of Manchester, in a lovely village in Cheshire. She is a world away from inner city Manchester and it’s certainly not on her doorstep.
She’s apparently petitioning her DH to move to Norwich as it’s safer. Hmm which it may be compared to Manchester but not from a hugely rural village 30 miles away from Manchester

Aibu to tell her to stop being an idiot

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 11/10/2019 15:34

Nope

She’s a drama llama

NoSauce · 11/10/2019 15:36

Those “ OMG I was near there 3 weeks ago “ posts bug me too. Who cares? You weren’t there today so zip it.

OP your friend sounds tiresome.

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/10/2019 15:37

She’s a self indulgent idiot. But everyone who sees her posts will think that. It’s a shame she’s missing something in her life and uses other people’s tragedies to give it meaning.

My Mum and 2 friends rang me before (I work in the city centre, but the city centre is a big place and I'm nowhere near the Arndale). I don't them to stop being daft (after I said thanks for checking on me), so no... Not at all unreasonable

Hellohah · 11/10/2019 15:37

Told them to stop being daft*

53rdWay · 11/10/2019 15:39

She sounds hilarious. I can picture her in Norwich now, breathlessly telling people all about her narrow escape from almost certain death in the violent war-torn ghetto of Prestbury Grin

SantaIsReal · 11/10/2019 16:05

She sounds the type who checks herself into hospital then says "PM me hun" eye roll
If she posted it on social media, I'd call her out on it but in a nice patronising way.

LifeSpectator · 11/10/2019 16:11

encourage her to move but further, much much further somewhere so remote and safe the wifi goes down a lot.

elf1985 · 11/10/2019 16:14

I live in Norwich. She needs to Google local knife crime!

sableandI · 11/10/2019 16:15

Sounds like an attention seeker. Drama overload

OkayGo · 11/10/2019 16:21

I live in Norwich, please tell her not to come here Grin
