To ask how tights can be comfortable?!

I find all tights dig into my waist horribly! I wear hold ups instead. But I'm wondering why others don't seem to have this problem??

My waist is slim btw and I don't have the problem with trousers / jeans

You might need a bigger size.

KilburnOriginal · 11/10/2019 12:57

try snag tights, fit like a dream, don't go baggy or roll down at the waist

WhoTellsYourStory · 11/10/2019 13:00

I like snag tights too. My favourites, though, are 100% cotton tights from Big Bloomers Company (worst name ever) but they're size UK 16+ only so may not be suitable for you. I wish more companies made cotton tights; they're exactly like the ones I wore when I was 5, so comfy!!

I just bought some snag tights (arrived in the post today). They seem to be pretty good. The range of sizes does seem to help quite a lot. I'm 5'6 (with long legs) but quite thin, so I have been sick of tights that are wide in the leg but short in length as if pulling them up won't result in baggy ankles and a gusset that keeps making its way to mid-thigh.

Although in saying that I feel like some sort of astroturfing advertising bot.

IdClimbHimLikeATree · 11/10/2019 13:09

Surely it's just a case of different bodies feel comfortable in different things?
I can't wear hold ups as they roll down, but I wear black opaque tights pretty much every day and I have never had an uncomfortable pair. I don't buy anything out of the ordinary either, just bog standard M&S black opaques.

firesong · 11/10/2019 13:11

Haven't heard of snag tights, will try em!

I have tried big sizes, but I'm medium height (5'5") and size 8 so they're normally long in the legs / crotch or generally baggy... with uncomfortable waist! Maybe I just have a sensitive stomach area 😂

I got the A/B sized snag tights. I was a bit skeptical tbh but they do seem to fit. Narrow legs that are long enough and comfortable waistband. You can see I have ankles too.

MulticolourMophead · 11/10/2019 13:19

I don't bother with tights, I wear stockings instead. I find them more comfortable.

OneHanded · 11/10/2019 13:20

I live in tights and think the same of trousers!

Camomila · 11/10/2019 13:28

I find tights comfier than leggings or jeans. Everything has waistbands but wooly tights have the softest.

I think it helps that I'm short so they sit right at the top/skinniest bit of my waist.

Batinahat · 11/10/2019 13:31

Another vote for snag tights here, I bought my first pair about 3 weeks ago and for the first time in my life I have tights that fit, are comfortable, and don't fall down or cut me in half :D Totally worth a try!

MargoLovebutter · 11/10/2019 13:34

Different brands of tights fit me differently. Even within the same brand, different types of tights may or may not be comfortable. For me it is a case of trying them.

If you haven't tried every brand & every type of tight, then keep going because you will find one that fits you and is comfortable because they all seem to be very different.

flirtygirl · 11/10/2019 13:36

I'm fat and it's on my stomach yet tights feel comfy. Go up a size or two and go for cotton content and/ or bamboo.

Bamboo is ridiculously comfortable.

peachgreen · 11/10/2019 13:38

Yep, Snag tights. I go up a size for comfort but don't really need to. They're great.
