Holiday flight (TC related)

We have booked a holiday Aug 2020, flights out with TC, flights back with Jet2 (all part of a package).

We had an email from Love Holidays to say there were no appropriate flights to replace the TC ones so we can either get a refund or a voucher.

However, I have looked on Skyscanner and there are flights but with other airlines. They take longer as there is a stop in Germany, but we would still get there that day.

AIBU to wonder why these haven't been offered as an option?

We would really prefer not to cancel

Theyvwill be looking for direct flights with certain airlines. Could you ask to keep the accommodation and book flights separately, or alter dates.

It's only the flight out and we would be ok with it taking longer under the circumstances.

We aren't being given any other options other than cancelling at the moment though.

On ours there were direct flights from another airport but they said 'there were no alternative flights at all'

I booked the alternative flights but they cancelled my whole holiday so lost the accommodation and transfers too

No one would help when I called to say I did not want them to cancel the bits that were fine

Ended up taking the refund and booking it all myself. Very annoyed with their complete lack of service, but on the bright side it was £800 cheaper!

You need to ask them direct, will they do online chat? At this stage it is easier for them just to rebook another package.
