In asking you to help me find this children’s book....

It was from my childhood I think, about a little boy who is friends with an elephant (not elephant and the bad baby) and the elephant is poorly or has a sore face or something and then the next day his tusks have come through? And the little boy brushes his teeth or the tusks or something? Pretty basic muted illustrations if I remember correctly

I’ve googled all the words and it hasn’t come up!!! Please help!

Was it a board book or a picture book? There are a lot of weird elephant children's stories for some reason!

I have vague memories of selling all my children’s books at a car boot when I was around 11-12 (with my mum of course!) and I’m sure this was one of them.
