Low carb

joystir59 · 07/10/2019 06:56

Eating less carbs will help. Eating less!

RibenaMonsoon · 07/10/2019 06:58

Cut out the crap. Junk food, especially sugar and cut out carbs with dinner. Make an effort to move more, even walking helps.
If you go in full blast it's harder to keep up so make little changes at first.

thewinkingprawn · 07/10/2019 07:01

I’d ask for this to be moved to the weight loss norad if I were you or join one of the very many threads on there. Good luck!

shinysinkredemption · 07/10/2019 07:08

You can definitely do this. What works for me is cutting down on quantities in general, and listening to my body so I don't eat if I'm not hungry even if it is a standard mealtime; it's easy to eat out of habit. Drink water when you go to get some food: this will fill you up a bit and it may be that you were actually thirsty. Have healthy options, eg apple, oatcakes, nuts, instead of biscuits and cereal. Look at the calories on what you're eating. Increase the amount that you exercise; go for a 20 minute brisk walk each morning or evening, it will boost your metabolism. Don't eat more because you are exercising - unless you're marathon training! Good luck.

MIdgebabe · 07/10/2019 07:17

Look at what you are really eating, so many people are in denial

Think about what your body needs...has it changed? A bit older, a bit less strong, a bit less active ? Family life taking over?

Think about the why, your motivation

And your mind, are you a bit down in the dumps? Do you need to support yourself with more exercise or yoga or a holiday to look forward to?

Work out what type of eating suits you ...I need to graze, others need a 2 meal a day approach or a 2 days starve approach

ANd well done, because catching weight gain early gives you the best chances of getting back in control!

Use my fitness pal to log absolutely everything you eat. Take a power walk every day.

Shayisgreat · 07/10/2019 13:10

Eat better, move more and lift heavy!

18 posts replied to today, isn't that active enough for you (pardon the pun) as a message board on weight loss?

There's tons of advice on that board. Good luck with your fitness journey hope it works out.

underground76 · 07/10/2019 13:20

You can ask for all the practical tips in the world, but the only person that can motivate you is yourself.

Download the MyFitnessPal app on your phone and start from there (but prepared to have to weigh a lot of stuff if you're cooking from scratch). But only you can decide if you can really be arsed.

Teddybear45 · 07/10/2019 13:22

Just cut out 100 cals per day and take up 30 mins of moderate activity per day (a brisk walk qualifies). You’ll lose it again.

Jesus. Who cares?

OP does Blush

OP, of course you're not being unreasonable. I too have just half a stone to lose to get me to 'stage; weight. The weight loss boards are full of helpful advice. The next low carb bootcamp starts next Monday: that would definitely be worth a go Smile
