So excited to finally have one to post Grin.

This more of a rant really. As you can tell by my highly detailed and entirely accurate diagram there is a small car park with a clear and accepted way round it (plus arrows) (green line).

So we have a long queue of traffic and a one in one out system and this arse (red line) decides to completely ignore the very obvious queue and bypass it, going straight into a space before the driver has even finished manoeuvring out of it (seriously, he was still trying to straighten up in the tight space).

Obviously being British I did nothing but seeth and plan this thread. But AIBU to ask you wise mumsnetter what terribly mature revenge I should exact should I ever see this most heinous crime again?

I think with car parks it’s just a free for all really - whoever gets there first. You don’t really queue for spaces - how could you? Eg if someone leaves a space halfway down the “queue” does everybody leave it and move over for the person at the front of the queue to park in? Of course not.

Yes, it’s a bit cheeky and it would obviously piss people off, but it’s what happens and you just have to get over it.

Put caltrops under their tyres.
Put dog poo under their door handles.
Put vaseline on their windscreen.
Leave a very cutting note.

Or just carry on seething. It's the British way.

tequilasunrises · 05/10/2019 14:09

Your mistake was not sending someone out of your car to go and stand in the space until you got there, apparently that’s ok on Mumsnet!

Steal the valve caps from his tyres

Haha it's usually very polite round here. Bit like musical chairs- you don't go backwards so if a space appears between two cars the one whose nose is nearest gets it. The exiting car wouldn't be able to get out of the one way system otherwise.

All small to medium car parks with one way systems people actually follow the system around here (especially small ones).

Cutting across like that is a dick move, though I'm sure someone will show up saying it's totally acceptable to hold up the flow of traffic and drive the wrong way.

Something similar happened to me once at a petrol station.... except the person came in the garage the wrong way.... pulled right up close to the pump I was parked at.... I was very far forward as my car was long and as I was getting out some cheeky fucker reversed in behind me to me.... took the pump out of the hold on the stand I was about to use and fully filled up her own fucking 4x4 which took an absolute eternity to fill! I was absolutely raging! Even the woman behind the counter when I paid was flabbergasted! Bitch! Not even a sorry!

Lovely diagram well done! Are you a pushchair user OP? Do you by chance have to squeeze past Arse Driver's car? So tightly that oops you scratched it? Wink

Binglebong · 05/10/2019 20:18
