One stop breast cancer clinic mess

Just attended my urgent one stop breast clinic appointment due to a dodgy breast. Nurse did an examination on me then said I need an ultrasound but they can't do them today. Heard the other nurses whispering about broken machines so I'm assuming that's why. Been told to go home and I'll "get a phonecall at some point" to come in for the ultrasound with no suggestion as to when. I have (unrelated) surgery in 3 weeks too and will be wiped out and unavailable for any appointments for a while after that.

After a nervous wait for my appointment I'm back home none the wiser when I'll actually be checked out. I'm kind of angry but I know they can't help it if machines are broken. Receptionist kind of didn't know what to do with us (obviously there are others in the same position) and just told us to wait for a call which I'm not even convinced I'm going to get. I don't even know what to do with myself. I guess I just have to wait and be a bag of nerves for a little longer.

I would presume they’d only just found out the equipment wasn’t working and no plan had been made yet about what to do. They won’t mess about with a suspected cancer clinic and will either get it sorted or transfer people to the next nearest clinic.

I would be shocked if you weren’t seen in the week but give them a ring monday afternoon if you’re fretting. It’s sucks to be in limbo but it is what it is and you have to sit tight Flowers

Unfortunately ct and mri scanners are bloody temperamental! Dh drove for an hour for a ct scan only to be told it was broken and he would need to re book. Receptionist insisted she'd called and spoken to dh in person to tell him that morning - yeah because after receiving that call he'd bother doing the 1hr drive Hmm
I'm sure it'll be days rather than weeks.

My son turned up for an urgent MRI scan at the same time as the machine broke, he was also told to wait for a phone call, fair play they phoned at noon the next day. Had is scan at 11pm that night as they wanted to catch up with the people they had cancelled.
Machines such as CT, MRI scanners are very temperamental.
Hope it's not too long a wait for you to be called back.

UPDATE:
They never phoned me and I had to chase them. In the end got an appointment for today which I went to (a whole 2 weeks after my initial clinic appointment!) and they used the ultrasound on two little spots of my right breast that the initial nurse marked down on a diagram then said it's dense breast tissue and sent me on my way!

They didn't event check my whole breast and didn't look at the other one at all.

Now I don't even feel like they examined me properly and I'm still worrying after all that ☹️

Someone reassure me please!
