They seem so reasonably priced for the space you get! DH and I are planning on putting our house in the market in the new year, and these beautiful lodge homes keep appearing in my searches but I have no idea about the practicalities of living in one. Does anyone here have any insights or guidance? I'm so curious about them!

Some have restrictions...eg you can only stay 10 months a year.
Intrinsically they may not be very warm!

I've got a family member who is a financial advisor. He advises against investing in properties like this as they depreciate in value quite quickly. Plus you get into dealing with fees on site, repairs, restrictions on how many months you can live there.

If you buy as a holiday let you can turn a small profit, but it's hard work. I have a few friends who did that while keeping a bricks and mortar property as their home.
