WIBU to complain about dd's slow orthodontist?

I have two DDs. Both are having NHS orthodontic treatment. We have very little choice of NHS orthodontists locally, as there is only one practice. Private is available but over an hour away. I think the practice has 3, possibly 4 orthodontists. Both girls see separate people.

First DD's ortho is fine. Always runs to time. Quick, friendly, efficient.

The other girl's... jeezo. Never, ever runs to time. Today we had an appointment at 9.45 and were seen at 10.20. This is a very important school year for DD as she will be sitting Highers in May and minimising time out of school is essential. We have never been taken on time. Ever. Even if you get a 9am appointment the ortho farts around until 9.15 when you're called in. Then another 5 minutes farting around putting gloves on and looking at the records. So slow. So inefficient compared with the other one.

But we have NO choice as there are no NHS alternatives nearby and the private would be even more travelling time. I am self-employed and if I treated my clients like this ortho treats theirs, I wouldn't have any clients. But because it's NHS they can get away with poor service. And still have the notices up saying that if you're 10 minutes late, they'll fine you.

WIBU to complain, and if so, to who? This ortho is also the "owner" of hte practice. I did enquire if we could switch DD to another ortho and was told no, it wasn't the done thing.. Hmm

If the orthodontist is the owner of the practice he’s probably doing loads more than just clinical work ie management. Could be why he’s taking longer?

We had to pay over £4,000 for our dds treatment because our area had no nhs orthodontics.
