Oh my God why did I agree to it. Holy fucking mother of bastards it was awful. Considered getting her to stop and just having a half 'stache. AIBU to think I would rather be hairy?

YANBU.
Once and never again - the stupid thing was, I didn't really need it done anyway, but there was a 'deal'.

owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwgerrofyoub*tch!

shazchip · 02/10/2019 21:06

You get used to it 😃

JudefromJersey · 02/10/2019 21:07

I’ve been doing it for years plus the sides of my face and neck. Not painful at all. Marginal discomfort when they get very close to the lip is the worst of it.

Take a paracetamol before you go in next time.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 02/10/2019 21:07

I had my eyebrows done once. Was worse than being tattooed.

BayandBlonde · 02/10/2019 21:08

It gets better, a bit like your first armpit wax or tattoo. Hurts like a bastard but doesn't stop us from going back Smile

ParkheadParadise · 02/10/2019 21:10

Ive had my eye brows threading for years.
My lip I've had done once and never again.
The pain was bloody horrendous.

Ilikeanimalsmorethanpeople · 02/10/2019 21:13

Love having my eyebrows threaded however I always get midly offended when asked if I want my upper lip done Blush

WrongKindOfFace · 02/10/2019 21:14

I don’t think the pain is that bad. The lovely spotty rash it leaves behind is pretty grim though.

Fallenmadonnawiththebigboobies · 02/10/2019 21:15

YANBU threading for eyebrows, wax for tache and chin hairs - far less agonising!

DariaMorgendorffer · 02/10/2019 21:16

Wow, you are braver than I! Get my brows threaded regularly but could not face getting my upper lip Shock. Thinking about laser for years..seriously must bite the bullet. Use cream and it's so smelly.

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 02/10/2019 21:17

come back and complain when you have epilated your OWN armpits.

hard as nails, me

MaybeitsMaybelline · 02/10/2019 21:17

I’ve had my eyebrows done so many times I actually enjoy it. Especially the bit between my brows.

I can’t summon up the confidence to have the trash done.

MitziK · 02/10/2019 21:17

You can always get your lip waxed - threading is then used just to pick up the ones that get missed.

Don't go when you're due on, as that makes it a lot more intense, and cooler days are better than hot ones.

It does get easier - and the worst place, in my opinion, isn't the upper lip/by the corners of your mouth; it's just in front of your earlobes.

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 02/10/2019 21:18

I have my eyebrows done regularly but my top lip once and that was enough! I broke out in awful spots around my mouth loads of them which looked like sores and bloody hurt! Never again

Millie2013 · 02/10/2019 21:18

I had my eyebrows threaded once, it hurt like hell and caused my nose to run like a tap, so the poor woman had to keep stopping while I mopped up. Never again, I’m sticking to waxing!

Drabarni · 02/10/2019 21:19

YANBU, I had my eyebrows done and she drew blood.
Just after she'd pulled the thread through her teeth, like dental floss.
Wouldn't it be good if something removed the bloody hairs permanently.

marriednotdead · 02/10/2019 21:24

Eyebrows threaded monthly no problem. Top lip once and once only. I'd rather not die in that kind of pain! And yes, the rash/paper cuts she left were hideous.

Oblomov19 · 02/10/2019 21:24

I've only had my eyebrows threaded a couple of times. I normally have my eyelashes dyed and an occasional eyebrow dye aswell.
Utterly painless, no discomfort at all. The 3 women doing it, looked very skilled. I know not of this pain, of which you all speak!

mysweetlove · 02/10/2019 21:28

I had to give up waxing and get threaded instead when I was on treatment for bad skin...oh dear god my eyes still water at the thought of it Confused although it def lasted longer

SadSongsAndWaltzes · 02/10/2019 21:29

I had my eyebrows done once and she caught the skin (probably my fault as I didn't pull the skin taut enough) - had a black eye for days! I've also had upper lip/ chin/ neck done once because I'm a secret werewolf. That was much gentler, I think the skill of the person doing it can have an impact on how painful it is and can vary quite a lot.

nancy75 · 02/10/2019 21:36

Eyebrows no problem, top lip threading was like rubbing my face with broken glass never, ever again! I also got loads of spots.

I’d rather spend the rest of my life walking round looking like Freddie Mercury than thread my top lip again

CheshireChat · 02/10/2019 22:03

I find threading agonising in general, had my eyebrows done and it was more painful than a full wax! And that's including the last time when I lost rather a lot of skin.

Tweezing all the way! (For eyebrows!)

drspouse · 02/10/2019 22:07

I get my eyebrows and chin done. It has nothing on having a smear, (or sciatica, or a migraine, or toothache).

LynetteScavo · 02/10/2019 22:40

I love having my eyebrows threaded.

No one is ever going near my top lip. (I once waxed) Nope, not happening. I'd rather have a smear test. Or even my coil removed.

ComtesseDeSpair · 02/10/2019 22:50

I just shave my upper lip. As long as I do it gently and every other day or so it doesn’t show, never any rash etc. Used to get it threaded but then braved the shave one day when I couldn’t get to a salon or out to buy wax and have just stuck with it.
