In the recent hot weather, I travelled every day on the underground.
I am absolutly fed up with seeing men dressed modestly, covered from elbow to knee in loose fitting cotton, and women displaying acres of bare flesh. What is the matter with us, that one half of the population dresses comfortably and modestly, and the other half squeezes into tight, skimpy clothing, showing off bare arms, bare shoulders, inches of cleavage, bare legs, bare midriff etc? It is almost impossible to find one woman of child-bearing age, dressed as modestly as ALL of the men!
Why do we do it? Scarcely any of the women I was looking at would have been economically dependent on the men.
It isnt for coolness, thats for sure, or men would do the same. Can you imagine if men started dressing in a similar way? Crotch hugging trousers, tight shirts slashed to the waist perhaps? Ugh.
Please no excuses about "feeling confident with their sexuality" - if this is about exploring sexuality, men would do it too.
No, the men know that they just have to have a shower and a clean shirt, and the women will be falling overthemselves to put their assets out on display. Is it really any great surprise, that there are magazines filled with nude women openly out on the shelves, and none filled with nude men (and no, I dont want to look at the nude men ones either)
Sometimes we are our own worst enemies.
