To ask if anyone can remember this toy

Talking with DD about some of her old toys. She has no recollection of this one and I can’t remember what it was called to google it, it’s driving me mad now..

Probably around 2010ish. It was a craft type thing consisting of these flat plastic pieces you could pop together to make either 3d shapes or necklaces, tiaras, etc depending on how you twisted or fitted the pieces together. It reminded me a bit of the beads you could get that popped together, but these were flat and bendy and each piece had various holes and ‘bobbles’ so you could snap them together in different ways

Does anyone remember what they were called? They seemed to disappear fairly quickly I don’t think they took off.

Have you tried using the words manipulative, connecting and interlocking on a google image search.

Sorry I can't help more.

Canuckduck · 28/09/2019 21:09

Were they tiny pieces?

PlasticPatty · 28/09/2019 21:10

Ooh, PlayPlax! I'd forgotten that. Really satisfying to play with.

raspberryrippleicecream · 28/09/2019 21:12

Was it a Lego product? Lego had a crafty thing out for a while, I can remember having free samples at Legloand in in 2003, and buying it a while after. Very expensive.

NoDontLookAtMeImShy · 28/09/2019 21:13

I had playplax!

But that was 80's

TwoleftUggs · 28/09/2019 21:29

Sadly none of these but thank you for the suggestions, I’m trying as many words as possible in google image search.
The pieces were possibly diamond shaped I think, and were bendy. You could either bend one over and attach it to itself to create a triangle or you joined one piece to another.
It’s killing me not being able to remember.

I know exactly what you mean OP but can’t remember the name! My SIL has them at her house and we are due there next weekend so if you can’t remember by then I can update!

Winterfellismyhome · 28/09/2019 21:32

Is it something by Galt? Sounds like the kind of thing they make

pizzicato · 28/09/2019 21:35

Octons !

bookmum08 · 28/09/2019 21:41

Ello made by Mattel was released at almost the same time as Clikits (made by Lego) and was similar. Clikits currently has a bit of a cult following in the adult Lego fan world.

Meercatsarecats · 28/09/2019 21:44

Knex

WhatchaMaCalllit · 28/09/2019 21:44

Was there magnets in it?

LishaFlynn · 28/09/2019 21:46

Whammy? Or Blocco? Both big in house in 2010!

TwoleftUggs · 28/09/2019 21:46

Please do @Sausageandpicklesandwiches
Everything on google has solid pieces. These were bendy. And all pastel colours if I remember right.

LishaFlynn · 28/09/2019 21:48

TwoleftUggs · 28/09/2019 21:49

Omg it was Wammy!!
They don’t look quite like I remembered or described Blush
Thank you @LishaFlynn

It's Japanese

katkit · 28/09/2019 21:58

Wammy! Great toy.

LoreleiRock · 28/09/2019 22:20

I loved Ello, it’s still in the loft, I may get it out again. Although the owner is almost 20 and probably won’t be interested 😂

Sewingbea · 28/09/2019 22:22

My DD had this! Played with it for hours - or at least she did when she could wrest it from the hands of her Dad and uncle who took competitive building to a new level ...

suzy2b · 28/09/2019 22:51

Never heard of it
