How long does your child spend on their mobile a day? DS (13) is on it nearly all evening after school, now that we have installed a Q time device on his PS4. It's 90% watching You Tube and mostly his favourite You Tuber. He does homework at school. Leaves at 7.45am and home at 4.15pm on schooldays.
He has sport two nights a week and also on Sunday mornings. The rest of the time he is on his phone, with small breaks to play with a football in the garden. His phone switches off at 9pm and it's not allowed upstairs.
Aibu to be concerned about too much You Tube?

Is he socialising? My 15 year old DD is in various chat groups with classmates and other friends and they're basically chatting a lot. I don't actually mind that at all...it's what I did in the 80s with a landline!

But maybe consider getting him a PC because the small screen's not good for eyes.

And make him stop for a bit in between sessions...about 2-3 hours a night is plenty of watching time.

Since you're turning it off at 9 I think it's fine OP.
