Wowcher Mystery Holiday

Has anyone bought the two £99 vouchers for the above? Draw for holidays was yesterday and I have heard nothing, despite emailing Wowcher and Weekender Breaks. Was hoping for a lovely trip with hubby after a long year without a break but feel very foolish as believe I have been properly 'had'. Blush

Is it a raffle ? Or were you thinking you would get something ? For £200 you could have bought a mini break surely?

Mil and her dsis did one years ago. Dsis got a coach from down south to NE.
Mystery holiday was back down her way!!

Yes, it was sold as a raffle and included some great destinations. We couldn't decide where to go with limited funds so thought it would be worth a shot. You are guaranteed a minimum two-night break which includes flights and accommodation, anything from Dublin/Europe to US, Bali, Thailand.

Wowcher have been going for some time. So I dont think they are a scam(mer). But I have found with Groupon and similar that you may not get what you think you are getting. I bought a track day for me after my divorce - fun, but I dont call a circuit around a car park a track.

Hopefully you hear soon.

Which do you think you're more likely to get, Dublin or Bali?

I've heard that the flight times are poor - eg you fly out in the evening on day 1 and back in the morning on day 3 so you only get one full day anywhere, despite paying for 2 nights accomodation.

You could probably get a 2 night mini break to Dublin or other European destinations with flights and hotels of your choosing for a similar price anyway. I've been to Lanzarote for £30 return, Malaga for not much more and Dublin for even less, and then you just need a hotel or airbnb for about £60 pn if there's two of you going.

So I have my holiday - 2 nights in Venice, flying out at 12.30pm, returning 2 days later on a 9.30pm flight. They tried to upsell hotel - a different 3 star hotel for an extra £80, different flights, even tried to get me to pay an extra £48 for breakfast when hotel site said it was complimentary! I was stubborn and refused to pay any extra, but my goodness, it was a hard sell - was on the phone for 45 mins! Hopefully all will be ok.

I hope you enjoy your break. Venice is amazing!

My daughters have just heard they got the Algarve for their £99 weekend with good flight times too. I’ve warned them about the up selling phone call they might get
