What’s the point in this scam?

So was about to buy a dress from someone on Depop (similar to eBay) and read her reviews and they are awful.

Lists the clothes, takes the money and then never sends the item and just re-lists it to sell again?

But people get their money back from PayPal disputes? So what’s the point?

At a guess PayPal don't manage to get the money back from her... So PayPal lose money, the customer gets their money back from PayPal and the seller gets to keep the original money.

Is actually quite common. People do it
On eBay a lot with phones. List really expensive phones that they don’t actually have. Someone buys it and they never send it, they get the money until pay day as eBay takes ages to refund!

Makes a lot of sense. Interest free loans for people who have cash flow problems.

I think EBay give you 3 chances? No idea how many Facebook/depop give etc

So I guess you could do this for a few months before getting banned
