to be seriously underwhelmed by Zizzi?

I’ve been twice. I think it’s pretty pricey at around £7 a starter and £13 main. But it is such bland, underflavoured, unimpressive food! Honestly I think I would have got more satisfaction from a microwave ready meal than the £££ crab cannelloni I had last time.

And the waiting staff insist on calling everyone ‘guys’ at all times which royally pisses me off. Angry

They are excellent for people with allergies. They cater really well for my children with severe milk and egg allergies.

In our local town, I rate Zizzis just above ASK, who are just above Pizza Express.

I’ll happily eat at all three, when wanting that kind of meal (usually just before or after an event such as theatre or concert when going straight out of work) but for me our local zizzis has the edge. DH prefers ASK.

I went recently under protest, I had very low expectations and quite enjoyed it - my Romano pizza was crispy and tasty - if I was stuck I’d go back.

I used to work at my local Zizzi when I was a student, back when it was in the same group as Ask and Pizza Express (it was positioned as the middle one of the thre, with Ask being the 'poshest'). I could eat for free if I worked a long enough shift, but I stopped doing that after just a few weeks, because no matter what I ordered, I ended up dashing to the loo with the trots. I haven't been to one since I quit.

So many people bigging up the awful, tasteless cardboard that is Pizza Express...wondering what I'm missing there.

Only went to Zizzis once, my pasta was incredibly bland and dry.

We subscribe to Taste card. Lots of places are buy one get one free.

I don't mind eating at Zizzi if I know the bill will be halved!
Their pizzas are nice, the freshly cooked sea bass is good. Puddings are a bit small.

It's ok for what it is, an average Italian chain restaurant.

Local independent Italian restaurants seem to be dying out sadly. These are my first choice over big chains.

YABU. The food is pretty awful. I'd rather save my money & eat at a good, local restaurant where the food is freshly made.
