I missed watching the Parliament channel of an evening. ‘Division!’, ‘Order’!

Amanduh · 24/09/2019 19:00

Yabu to want to see/hear anything from Bercow, the odious toad

Idontwanttotalk · 24/09/2019 19:05

I do think John Bercow's announcement on the BBC after the result of the Supreme Court verdict was actually measured and professional. (I was expecting him to be gloating and pompous so it made a pleasant change).

I like Bercow! He's good entertainment!

Grobagsforever · 24/09/2019 19:39

Me too!

notangelinajolie · 24/09/2019 19:46

I watch it purely for entertainment - its better than any realty show and much funnier. I gave up on the politics of it all long ago.

AnneLovesGilbert · 24/09/2019 19:48

I can’t imagine what Boris is going to say. But I can hear the jeering already.

notangelinajolie · 24/09/2019 19:49

It's like a good telly series that will never ever come to an end.

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 24/09/2019 19:54

It's urgent questions/statements only, not an ordinary sitting.

And as Labour have had their conference, presumably then agreement to break for the other conferences (those dates have been in parliamentary calendar for months, and the House was due to return on 9/10)

RelapsedChocoholic · 24/09/2019 20:15

Don’t Parliament have to approve recesses?

Lib Dem’s and Labour have had their conference so wonder how any recess vote will go... (bit crap for the greens!)

RancidOldHag · 24/09/2019 21:09

They always approve conference recess. The dates have been fixed for ages, and published on Parliament's official website.

Tories (who have quite a lot to talk about!) have their conference 29/09-2/10.

So perhaps the recess can be shortened - only rising on the days of the conferences, not for the whole season?
