Fright of my life!!

I don't think I've ever been as scared as what I was this morning!

There I am, blissfully asleep in bed. DH has left for work, dropping DD off in nursery on the way. Not another person in the house.

Suddenly there's an almighty noise outside my bedroom and the door swings open!! Cue my immediate thoughts of a burglar or worse, a ghost 😱

But no, it was the bloody cat! The cat! She can open doors now apparently. She casually jumps onto my bed with a toy mouse in her mouth looking for a game! Damn cat! 😅

AIBU to think that's my privacy out the window now?

Had a Bengal who was the same. We opted for door locks.. the other alternative is door knobs!

We may have to invest in some locks Grin Can't even go for a wee without her trying to sit on my lap!

My grandmother once woke up in the middle of the night hearing voices talking inside her house - male voices when the only other occupant of the house was my aunt. She immediately thought of calling the police, but the phone was in the kitchen. So she crept out of her bedroom, armed with a heavy vase, and to the kitchen. She saw the light on in the living room, and the voices were coming from there, so she peeked in. And found her two cats sitting on the sofa with the TV on! The little shits had figured out how to turn on the light and the TV and were getting all cozy with a show on...

Those cats also liked to flush the toilet in the middle of the night. Not that they were using it - they just liked to watch the water run down, apparently.

I woke up at 5:30am this morning because I could hear an internal door opening/closing, then realised I could hear the cat miaowing (if there had been an intruder she'd have been hiding) so it must have been her, the little sod. I was really scared!

Oh no! My cat likes to hide on the landing and jump out from the pitch darkness when I go to the loo at night....not a game I enjoy!

That made me laugh probably more than it should, sorry Grin
