To expect some vague correlation in sizes of kids clothes brands?

My DS is 4 months old, following the 75th percentile and is currently in 6-12 month sock suit from grobag, 9-12 month outfits from M&S and yet a 6-12 month t-shirt from Boden is too small and is in fact the same size exactly as a similar one from Next which is 3-6 months. The next size up is 12-18 months - for a 4 monthd old? Surely shome mishtake?

In fact the Boden stuff is all on the small side, and some of it shrank when I washed before wearing at 30 degrees - surely this shouldn't happen. Do you reckon I can send it back? It's shoddy, and not cheap either.

Yes, send it back and complain.

It's true though, they are all different. We find that:
-anything French is tiny
-Ladybird is massive
-Primark/Asda starts out normal but shrinks

Yes, I have noticed the French thing too. Funnily enough there was a French baby at the baby clinic the other day and she WAS tiny...but surely they can't all be.

my dd is 13 months old and still wearing H&M 2 - 4 month old pjs (US size) - ok they stop halfway down her shins but still.....the arms are the right length and they are perfect everywhere else.

Yes, French clothes are tiny - my dds had a French T shirt sized age 4, which they had grown out of by 18 months.

The other thing that gets to me is that lots of shops seem to have inconsistent sizing between the trousers and tops, eg all the trousers from Next and Boden seem really long. DD1 wears age 4/5 tops and age 3 trousers.

It's not just children's clothes, though; my own clothes range from size 6 to size 14, all of which fit me.
