To think this doctor was rude?

I’ll be completely honest, I’m in a shit place at the moment, can’t sleep, no reason to get out of bed etc

My antidepressants were no longer working. I had a doctors review booked in anyway. Was not my normal doctor.

Firstly she kept trying to push therapy on me. Again I had to tell the story about when I took an overdose and had to have therapy at the hospital and afterwards. I hate saying this and don’t want to keep reliving it,

She said she’d try me on different meds and listed the side effects and one was increased weight gain.

I asked if there was a different one and she snapped at me that she can’t give me medication with zero side effects.

Not what I asked Hmm .. I just wanted to know if there was one without that particular side effect.

YANBU, that is rude. Side effects are a perfectly reasonable reason to not want to take certain medications. She shouldn't have snapped at you.

Hope you start feeling better soon Flowers

Thank you.

My weight (although I’m not huge) is an issue for me and does get me down,

I just don’t want to be on something that might help one issue but make other worse.

Thanks for your kind words.

Horrid and unnecessary. Complain to Practice Manager. For future reference, duloxetine doesn’t cause weight gain in the way Mirtazipine does. Hope you’re feeling better soon. 💐
